CELEBRATIONS AT OPENING OF LOCAL BUSINESS > > >

Polapaws official opening was held last month at their new premises in Miami. Owners, Nicole Hammond and Erin Mallows celebrated with close friends and supporters, a fantastic atmosphere, great food and wine while showcasing the wide range of products and treats they have available. Polapaws supply to most of the pet shops in Queensland and Northern New South Wales with their range of PolaPaws Australian Pet Treats.

"Polapaws products are produced locally, are all Australian made, high quality products that you would be happy to give to your dog."

The new dehydration process used by their manufacturer, Natural Pet Treats, is a one-of-a-kind in Australia. No other treats manufacturer has the state of the art equipment that ensures the best quality and best tasting treats for your pet.

It was a need for her own dogs that set Nicole off looking for something to fill a gap in the market. "We found that most treats were either full of colours, or cereals, or sometimes, imported", said Nicole. "I knew that wasn't what I wanted my Alaskan Malamutes to eat, and I was pretty sure there would be other dog owners out there who would feel the same"

GOVERNMENT SEEKS COMMUNITY INPUT VIA PUBLIC DISCUSSION PAPER > > >

The Queensland Government has launched an extremely important discussion paper to gauge public opinion on the issues of desexing and identifying companion animals. This is in order to try and solve the problem of pet overpopulation and the thousands of dogs and cats killed every year simply because they don’t have a home.

All members of the community are invited to make submissions in response to the discussion paper.

The closing date for submissions is Friday 3 August 2007. Click here to have your say!

ANIMALS ASIA RESCUE SMUGGLED CUBS > > >

The Animals Asia team has three new family members and they couldn't be more adorable. Three tiny Moon bear cubs that were being smuggled into Vietnam were rescued by the team - they are now safe and sound and enjoying the good life at Animals Asia bear rescue centre near Hanoi. These rescued bears play a important role in Animals Asia education efforts, so despite the frustrations, long-term, they are still on track to end bear farming in this country.
