<<< SUNDAY, 25th FEBRUARY 2007 IT'S A DOG'S BREAKFAST AND RESCUE ANIMAL REUNION

The annual “It’s a Dogs’ Breakfast and Rescue Animal Reunion” at Doug Jennings Park, The Spit on Sunday 25th February was a brilliant success! All of our four-legged friends had the time of their life! There were exciting games from agility and obedience to basic dog training, great live entertainment and no matter where you looked there were smiles everywhere! Families and friends enjoyed the vegetarian sausages and were keen to support the AWL by purchasing their Zero Euthanasia t-shirts.

The AWL is working hard at promoting to the community the 'truth about cats and dogs' - and that is that there are simply too many of them being euthanased each year because there are not enough homes for them. AWL figures show more than 40,000 cats and dogs are waiting for caring homes in pounds and shelters around Australia. We must all help to spread the message so that the Gold Coast can become the first city in Australia to end the euthanasia of healthy cats and dogs.

It was great to be part of this wonderful event alongside wonderful organisations that attended such as Animal Liberation Queensland, Friends of the Hound, The Vegetarian Society and many others.
